Duties
Serves as a Team Lead and senior advisor in the Application Support Branch within the Defense Automatic Addressing System (DAAS) in DLA Information Operations (J6).
Serves as an expert business systems analyst, identifying and resolving application issues related to the use of one or more Automated Information Systems (AIS) within DAAS.
Performs complex and/or recurring assignments, independently or as a member of a team, in the administration, development, delivery and support of information technology (IT) systems and services.
Serves as a customer liaison and analyzes customer functional requirements and provides in-depth technical guidance to other specialists to prepare responses and/or recommendations to customers.
Demonstrates expert knowledge utilizing and interpreting the Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP), the Military Standard Transaction Reporting (cont.)
(cont.) and Accounting Procedures (MILSTRAP), the Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS), and the DAASC Micro Automated Routing System (DMARS).
Provides expert advice and recommendations for changes in logistics policies and procedures to determine their impact on operations.
Performs complex analytical studies and research to anticipate and identify system issues, develop solutions, and implement system enhancements.
Interprets and applies logistics concepts and policies to the design and operation of Automated Information Systems on assigned projects.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Identifies and resolves customer logistics support problems related to the use of DAAS information technology (IT) systems utilized to order materiel from the Defense Logistics Agency and the military services.
- Acts as functional expert/adviser to the military services, government agencies and foreign military sales customers concerning established DLA policies, procedures, and systems.
- Monitors and controls DAAS logistics database maintenance actions and resolves errors and incompatibilities.
- Utilizes thorough, comprehensive knowledge of AIS principles and logistics processes and procedures.
- Communicates and collaborates in a team setting on assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, program issues under review, and deadlines.
- Coaches others in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, providing advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assisting the team and/or customers in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.
- Applies knowledge of standard support functions/practices associated with system-to-system automated interfacing, such as common file structures and naming conventions, application program characteristics, automated tools, and query tools to perform operational problem identification and resolution.
- Applies knowledge of DoD business processes and data standards used to support the business processes.
