About the Position: The incumbent is responsible for day to day resource management operations (i.e., analyzing, formulating, executing, and justifying a segment of the command program and budget in excess of 4 billion dollars.
Duties
This list is not all-inclusive:
Independently work to plan and organize assignments and carry out program objectives within established goals.
Develop guidance to resolve unusual problems encountered.
Ensure all financial transactions are accurate and correct.
Apply judgment to interpret and evaluate guidelines and apply them to specific problems for resolution.
Provide accounting, budget, and manpower reports and other related information to management to be used in budget execution process.
Review and evaluate proposed policies and procedures, assuring findings are accurate and complete to ascertain program compliance.
Assist with the continued development, coordination, and evaluation of an effective resource management program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all DoD and DA requirements for Financial Management Level 2 Certification IAW the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012. This requirement is a condition of employment for this position.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) for business up to 10% of the time.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) analyzing collected data for use in financial reports or researching a variety of financial issues in order to provide guidance and advice to management and staff and 2) resource management, funds execution, and experience with financial systems such as: General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Defense Travel System (DTS), Dormant Account Review Quarterly (DAR-Q) in support of the Joint Review Process (JRP), Operational Data Source (ODS), Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), Wide Are Workflow (WAWF), or Electronic Data Access (EDA) database to prepare recurring or ad hoc statistical reports on the status of funds.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
