About the Position: This position serves as a Budget Analyst located in HQ U.S. Army Material Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, Resource Management, G-8, Budget, Integration and Cost Division.
Duties
Serve as a Budget Analyst within the Deputy Chief for Resource Management, G-8, Budget, Integration and Cost Division.
Perform work in all aspects of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution Systems (PPBES).
Evaluate total program policy and guidance, execution to detect potential financial problems and start corrective action.
Determine the impact on assigned procurement programs due to budgets and limitations in RDTE, OMA, AWCF and other appropriations.
Establish and maintain continuous contact with the technical staff and appropriate counterparts and elements of HQDA, U.S. Army Materiel Command, subordinate commands.
Participate in formulation of the Program Objective Memorandum by comparing actual execution to POM requirements.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Incumbent of this position is required to obtain Financial Management Level 2 certification within 24 months of occupying the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applies analytical reasoning to conduct analysis; 2) Assists with the development of long and/or short range fund requirements; 3) Utilizes budget/financial systems such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) to prepare financial reports; AND 4) Compiles narrative and statistical material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
