About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Serves as Secretary of the Joint Staff (SJS) for the Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF).
Duties
Responsible for the direct supervision of military and civilian personnel who provide overall management, administrative support, and protocol services for the Commander, Deputy Commander, and Chief of Staff.
Serve as the information and coordination link between the Command Group and the commands major directorates, staff activities, USCYBERCOM, and all lateral commands and organizations.
Lead the planning, execution, and recording of CNMF planning policy and executive management reviews.
Plans work to be accomplished by contractors and subordinate supervisors, setting priorities and scheduling completion of assigned duties.
Maintain effective relationships with USCYBERCOM, Joint Staff, DOD, federal agencies, and military services and recruits their active support to accomplish CNMF priorities.
Provide administrative supervision and work direction of Public Affairs Office, Chaplain, Inspector General, Liaison Officers, and Safety.
Provide staff coordination of office management, visual information, video teleconferencing, other meetings, calendar maintenance, and related budgetary matters.
Assigns work based on priorities and selective considerations of the difficulty of assignments and capabilities of employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET / SCI clearance as a condition of employment.
- Call back and emergency duty are occasional requirements of this position.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel approximately 10%.
- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP). Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Army, national security, and public safety.
- SITUATIONAL TELEWORK - This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
