About the Position: Serves as a General Staff Program Specialist providing as liaison between designated staff elements, higher headquarters and Command Groupon staff actions. Coordinates and facilitates the flow of information between the Command locations. Expedites actions with respective elements to meet appropriate suspense(s).
Duties
Review correspondence and guidance from the Command; proofreads makes corrections and revisions on correspondence.
Manage an automation system to coordinate Command level tasks and provide status to the Command.
Review all tasks and assigned work to be accomplished. Proofreads and analyzes data to minimize discrepancies and to meet suspense’s.
Prepare and distribute approved correspondence to the Command staff.
Assist in review of rough drafts and final drafts of correspondence from other staff members.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of the appointment.
- One-year Probationary Period is required for this position.
- This is a "Mission Essential" position.
- A Mission Essential employee is required to report for, or remain at work in emergency situations, and dismissal or closure announcements do not apply unless his/her supervisor instructs otherwise.
- Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone at residence to aid in contact during recall situations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the NH-01 grade level, which includes preparing reports, studies, findings, presentations, and correspondence for a Military and civilian audience using Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; proficient in processing staff actions to include taskers; proficient in proofreading documents and correspondence for proper format, grammar, spelling and punctuations for distribution to Command staff. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower band in the federal service (NH-01/GS-04).

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower band in the federal service (NH-01). Aviation and Missile Command is a Demonstration Laboratory, and positions are placed in pay bands.
The pay band for this position, NH-2, is equivalent to GS-05 through GS-11. If the qualifications of the applicant selected for the vacancy exceeds the minimum required, placement salary maybe adjusted higher to commensurate with those qualifications.
