About the Position: This position is located at Defense Health Agency, Naval Medical Center San Diego, Director of Clinical Support, Radiology Department.

Duties

Manage, regulate, coordinate, and otherwise exercise control over services, supplies, equipment, or other material related to radiology operations. Prepare recommendations and directives for the procurement of material indicating the types of items needed, quantities required, and the source of procurement. Plan and determine, acquisition and distribution, accountability, and ultimate issue for use, retention, or disposal. Manage and coordinate inventory and inventory management systems. Serve as central point of contact to coordinate and advise on work efforts and monitors the status and effectiveness of material support by identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential"
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Manage a variety of expendable items and durable medical equipment; forecasting short- and long-range inventory needs; utilizing automated inventory management systems to maintain current inventory data; researching and analyzing information to resolve questions and issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Inventory ManagementPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
