You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.
Duties
You will assist FLC organic and external customers in developing work methods, techniques, and standard operating procedures (SOP) for NWCF-SM operations.
You will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a thorough knowledge of OSD/Navy supply management and inventory accuracy regulations/policies to perform assignments, prepare reports, and support inventory oversight.
You will utilize IT systems such as eRetrograde Management System (eRMS), Commercial Asset Visiblity (WebCAV), and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, to ensure systems are correctly accounting for inventory.
You will investigate problems as they occur, recommend resolutions, and report to their chain of command
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying governing supply regulations, policies, and procedures in order to research, analyze and investigate discrepancies that occur, recommend resolution and report the information to a supervisor. I have experience using material management processes and various IT systems (e.g eRetrograde Management System (eRMS), Commercial Asset Visibility (WebCAV) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)) to ensure accuracy of data entry and maintenance of inventory. You have experience planning, analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of supply programs and to consider and enforce innovative procedures and methods to increase managerial effectiveness. Examples of specialized experience may include some of the following 1) Monitor performance measures to ensure timeframe and benchmarks are being met in order to present data to a supervisor 2) Ensure transactions and material movements are entered into Navy ERP; 3) Research data and information, analyze that information and convert that analysis into written reports; 4) Provide training and guidance regarding inventory management and accuracy in accordance with policy.
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates analytical work utilizing a practical knowledge of a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles, concepts, and methodologies to perform inventory management, material coordination, and/or inventory control work assignments. You have experience determining, regulating, or controlling the level and flow of supplies from initial plan through acquisition, storage, issue and utilization or disposal. Examples of specialized example may include some of the following; 1) Using automated supply systems such as ERP or Maximo to reorder and replenish requests to avoid out of stock items; 2) Monitor usage transactions to assist in establishing and revising reorder frequencies; 3) Verifying change in rate of usage, cost, supplier availability in order to compute material requirements or estimates for budgeting

GS-11 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, LL.M, or have completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
