You will serve as a LEAD INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will ensures that the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team’s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
You will coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, provides advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assists the team and/or individual members in identifying a solution.
You will participate in the development of supply chain management practices for facility maintenance activities, with a focus on long range planning improvement.
You will research, learn and apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.
You will develop logistics/supply and SCM training opportunities and customer supply chain systems, programs, support offerings, supplies and services to collaborative partners and customers.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining control and accountability of all materials received, issued, stored, and disposed, as well as improving inventory record accuracy and auditability; 2) Applying supply and purchasing regulations, policies and instructions to make purchases, monitor deliveries, and return material; 3) Adhering to safety and hazardous material regulations, processes and procedures to maintain a safe work environment; and 4) Using automated information systems, Business Logistics applications (BLAs) and software such as Microsoft Office suite, Maximo, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), GSA systems and FedMall to retrieve, process, and analyze data and orders.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
You have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
You have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
You have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
You have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
