About the Position: You will serve as Chief of a Weapon System Branch in a Product Support Integration Directorate (PSID) with supervisory and management responsibilities for assigned personnel.
This is a temporary position of one year and cannot be made permanent. It can be extended for up to three years in one year increments.
Duties
Supervise the activities of multifunctional teams which may include Equipment Specialists, Inventory Management Specialists, Supply Management Specialists, Technical Writers, Logistics Management Specialists and other specialists.
Analyze problems and identify new solutions.
Coordinate logistics mission accomplishment within the community, higher headquarters, and other relevant organizations.
Participate in the development of program requirements for assigned systems.
Develop and implement a comprehensive product support strategy for the weapon system.
Evaluate the effectiveness of assigned programs/weapon systems and materiel, assuring timely support of field and higher echelon customers.
Utilize sound judgment in decision making process in difficult, negative, or unexpected situations.
Assign work to subordinates, provide technical oversight, develop performance plans/rates employees, interview candidates/recommend hiring/promotion, and take disciplinary measures.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide/arrange for development/training.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- A 1-year probationary period is required unless already completed
- This is a Temporary position intended to last one year. A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of five years (in one-year increments) and may be terminated at any time depending upon the needs of management.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11 equivalent.
