About the Position: Serve as the Capability Development & Integration Specialist (Medical) for the U.S. Army Futures & Concepts Center, Medical CDID, Army Capability Management Division at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The specialty work code for this position is Medical, and this core competency within the Lifecycle Engineering Domain, Capability Development and Integration includes the Army Health System consisting of multiple medical functions.

Duties

Develop capabilities, integrating key elements and managing a capability through its lifecycle. Support the Health Service Support and Force Health Protection capabilities. Provide capabilities support for programs related to freedom of action, extended operational reach, and prolonged endurance of a variety of Army medical functions. Develop and design systems to meet the needs of the warfighter.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary duty may be required up to 30% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a three-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes at least 3 of the following: 1. Provide computer system administrator support with higher level review for Information Technology automation requirements, 2. Assist in the design and evaluation of products that integrate a variety medical functions such as treatment, hospitalization, evacuation, and logistics, 3. Assist in the development of system software architecture balancing technical risk between a variety of systems, 4. Communicate program results to higher level staff to influence others to accept decisions or recommendations when there are conflicting objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DE-02 (GS-11).
