About the Position: Serves as the Command Operations Specialist for the Deputy to the Commanding General (DtCG), Combined Arms Center (CAC).
Duties
As a Command Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Provides executive direction, assistance, and support to the DtCG, CAC SOs, DRUs, CAC Staff and Fort Leavenworth, Garrison offices.
Keeps the DtCG informed of critical developments and provides or obtains expert advice on all administrative aspects of various problems or situations that may arise.
Analyzes and processes information and data, provides recommendations and advice concerning staff administrative management procedures and operation policies.
Analyzes completed actions for priority, content, and to ensure necessary levels of staff coordination have been accomplished.
Attends high level meetings with the DtCG, and is expected to write executive summaries/information papers, etc.
Maintains mission awareness to respond to inquiries on actions and their status.
Plans work to be accomplished, interpret policy, procedures, issues guidance, provides advice.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment
- Temporary Duty (TDY), up to 15% of the time.

Specialized Experience Statement To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work which includes processing correspondence for the daily operations of leadership staff; communicating with individuals on various levels through oral and written communication; reviewing administrative management operations to make recommendations for improvement and plan, develop or implement changes.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
