About the Position: Manages Training Area 24 encompassing two Military in the Field facilities, the Petroleum Training Facility, and the Fire Suppressant Training Facility. Conducts training for 92F (Petroleum Supply Specialist) courses in basic knowledge and skills, tactical fuel and water distribution and storage systems, pump theory, quality surveillance, aviation refueling operations, pipeline operations, sampling and gauging, and water purification and treatment operations.

Duties

Responsible for instructional actions including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of liquid logistics and distribution. Supervises a composite workforce, consisting of one GS 1702-09, 12 Military (E2-E7), and Contractors engaged in training, operations, and maintenance of TA-24. Identifies and implements projects to enhance the training, equipment, infrastructure, environmental, and safety requirements. Serves as Site Manager for Training Area 24, consisting of 55-acres and 2.3 million gallons of petroleum products. Develops training materials for 92F (Petroleum Supply Specialist) course.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • The incumbent must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement within two years of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education, Business Admininistration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
