Duties
Serves as a Military Pay financial systems analyst responsible for research and analysis of military pay issues and initiatives for the development and implementation of the SIPPS Pay Module for active and reserve pay processing.
Develops military pay policy and provides oversight for functional system requirements.
Conducts detailed research concerning the integration of military service (active and reserve) pay and compensation systems into the standard DoD military pay system, the SIPPS Pay Module, and associated software
Interprets, analyzes and reviews financial systems policy, regulations, procedures and requirements for DFAS systems which implement a broad range of financial requirements.
Reviews and analyzes the achievements and program effectiveness of DFAS Project Teams (government and contractor), SIPPS (PERS/Pay) Project Teams, and external interfacing organizations.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Detailed experience with Defense Joint Military Pay System or Marine Corp Total Force Systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the continuity of a financial organization's business operations. Experience analyzing and evaluating automated military payroll systems to develop payroll system recommendations, and demonstrating substantive knowledge of automated financial systems relative to payroll including design practices, system development and testing.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
