You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROJECT MANAGER in the WATERFRONT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, DEPOT LEVEL PLANNING DIVISION of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will supervise subordinates in the administration of the advance planning and planning phases of major maintenance and modernization availabilities on surface ships and crafts with planning contractors. You will conduct personnel performance reviews, assign tasks and determine deadlines, develop long range plan for accomplishment of current and projected workload schedules. You will accept and review work requests to assure requested work does not constitute unauthorized repairs or ShipAlts. You will determine requirements for third party planner funding for the advance planning and planning phases of Continuous Maintenance Availabilities. You will initiate formal ship availability assignment authorizations, authorize funds expenditures, and supervise the transfer of the specification package to the executing project manager.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing technical or contractual ship repair and modernization work specifications to ensure processes and procedures meet requirements in support of production milestones.
