About the Position: This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties
Maintain time-and-attendance for physicians and civilian personnel.
Ensure accuracy and timely submissions are made within prescribed timelines.
Provide administrative support to the Chief and members of the clinical and administrative staff.
Screen visitors and telephone callers to determine the nature of the call and provide appropriate information.
Input selective files, records, data items into the computer using applicable software programs.
Maintain calendar of all leaves and suspense dates to keep the Chief aware of approaching suspense dates.
Compose correspondence for the office.
Prepare material for the Chief to utilize at various training sessions and committee meetings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.
- A pre-placement medical examination may be required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes operating office automation systems, preparing travel arrangements, and performing a variety of receptionist functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
