About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Human Resources at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks.

Duties

Supervise an operation involving approximately five civilian employees who are engaged in professional, technical and administrative work. Provide training to organization pertaining to casualty assistance and funeral honors on a monthly basis or as needed basis. Develop an operation involving approximately five civilian employees who are engaged in professional, technical, and administrative work. Provide casualty subject matter expertise for units in the Casualty Assistance Center (CAC) Area of Responsibility (AOR) by issuing guidance, responding to request for information from supporting commands. Identify remains from contractors on behalf of the Army, Coordinating the Disposition of Remains, and Coordinating the Disposition of Personnel Effects.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 10%.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
