About the Position: Serves as a senior Air Missile Defense Systems advisor, technical expert, and recognized authority to the Product Manager (PdM) for analysis and establishment of the budget requirements in systems architecture.
Duties
Ensure synchronization of SOS funding requirements in Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and Strategic Portfolio Review (SPAR) to prevent delays of scheduled activities and loss of crucial AMD and tactical missile capacities for the warfighter.
Coordinate program planning and programming across complex SOS programs from the Project Management Office (PM) and the PEO staff.
Maintains technical competency through constant involvement and awareness of developments in the employees’ fields of expertise and involvement.
Serve as an Air Missile Defense (AMD) expert advisor to the PdM regarding the status, efficiency, or effectiveness of a broad range of acquisition programs.
Represent the PdM at all levels of government and industry, and initiates influences, and shapes policy, concepts, and approaches.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Business-Financial Management certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Financial Management Level III Certification required within 24 months of entry on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience which includes: 1) Managing financial management programs and acquisition planning; 2) Developing and managing an internal operating budget; 3) Developing Program Objective Memorandums/long range planning; and 4) Preparing financial and programmatic reports for senior leaders. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-03/GS-13) position in the federal service.
