Duties

Serves as a Supervisory Training Instructor for SOF communications. Suggests instructor training programs geared toward overall instructor qualifications in accordance with Department of Defense Directive (DoDD 8570) . Oversees the application of training methodology, develops and implements the individual and unit evaluation checklists(s) and score sheets based on the Unit Mission Essential Task List (METL), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Commander's Objectives.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Work requires ability to perform day-long (minimum 8 hours standing) platform instruction and participate in field exercises in the seasonal environmental extremes. Lifts heavy weights up to 75 pounds.
  • A satisfactory medical examination is required prior to assignment into the position.
  • Valid operator's license is required to drive civilian vehicles.
  • TDY occasionally required, 10%
  • This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • This is a rotating shift position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance from which to formulate, coordinate, and execute training and instructional assignments. Receiving course assignments with the course objectives, topics to be covered and general content in a prescribed form but participates in original course content development and in its subsequent modification. Supervising instruction for approximately 30 different courses in the Program of Instruction (POI) for students and newly assigned personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and MediaOral CommunicationTraining and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
