You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE SUPRESSION DIVISION of NAVAL AIR STATION LEMOORE.

Duties

You will apply principles, practices, and techniques applicable to fire protection elements involving fire prevention, aircraft, structural, ordinance and shipboard firefighting. You will train personnel in fire protection and prevention. You will manage a hazardous materials protection and control program.

Requirements

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certs: Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - CPR Card.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying principles, practices, and techniques applicable to fire protection elements involving fire prevention, aircraft, structural, ordinance and shipboard firefighting; 2) Training personnel in fire protection and prevention; and 3) Managing a hazardous materials protection and control program. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for this position. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certs: Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - CPR Card. The fire certifications must have been awarded by the DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
