You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER (ASSISTANT CHIEF) in the FIRE DIVISION, OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR STATION LEMOORE.

Duties

You will develop policies and guidance for an installation fire and emergency services program. You will manage the development and implementation of a risk management plan for a fire department. You will review a disciplinary action (e.g., suspension, termination, personnel action) for compliance with policy or guidelines

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) providing assistance, advice and recommendations concerning fire protection/prevention; planning, managing, coordinating, implementing and evaluation fire prevention programs; 2) administering a fire and emergency services budget; 3) reviewing records, reports, codes and procedures to make suggestions on improvements to firefighting techniques and/or policies; and 4) providing guidance to subordinate staff to include assigning work, performance standards, training and disciplinary action.
