You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the of N30, FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICESNAVAL AIR STATION LEMOORE.

Duties

You will administer training, orientation, indoctrination, and education programs for fire safety and awareness. You will advise on acceptable design of code deficiencies (e.g., facilities layouts, design, construction, building contents, location of fire protection systems, fire alarm system operations, fire suppression systems operations). You will research technical manuals, fire codes, and trade references to reduce or eliminate fire hazards or conditions. You will establish performance standards for junior firefighters or employees.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a CPR/AED certification.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Maintain fire protection records according to policy, guidelines, instructions and directives; 2) Provide fire protection and fire prevention methods concerning hazardous conditions; 3) Determine the degree of fire and/or life safety hazard which may present fire protection issues; 4) Utilize office automation software to prepare reports in the correct format. 5) Coordinate training regarding fire protection requirements. NOTE: This experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for this position. Firefighter Certifications: This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector III and HAZMAT Awareness. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
