The US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is seeking an Administrative Management Specialist to provide technical, operational and administrative support to the Chief Management Officer (CMO).
Duties
Performs a wide variety of technical, operational, and administrative functions including special projects in support of OPM and the Office of the Director (OD).
Conducts analysis, makes recommendations, and improves administrative and program procedures and management practices.
Manages special and recurring projects related to customer service, process improvement, workforce management, and performance management.
Interfaces with the other OPM offices to ensure policies and programs are integrated with OD management program activities.
Conducts special management and program projects and/or assignments that involve researching and analyzing data, preparing recommendations and reports, and presenting findings to senior staff.
Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level (or equivalent) serving as administrative specialist performing all of the following duties:
Tracking /managing official communication
Advising executive leadership on sensitive issues
Acting as key liaison with senior executive leadership
Coordinating travel arrangements and approvals AND
Composing/editing correspondence ensuring proper grammar, format, punctuation and spelling.
Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS12 level.
