You will serve as a Technician in the Systems Integration Department (G), Guns Division (G3) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV located at San Diego, California.

Duties

You will provide In Service Engineering support and representation of the Minor Caliber Guns Branch (Code G32) for the The west coast Gun Weapon System Replacement Program (GWSRP). You will provide technical support for daily operations and coordinate priorities and efforts of OPNAV, NAVSEASYSCOM, Fleet Technical Support Centers (FTSC), Type Commanders, Depots, ISEAs and ship yards to ensure program requirements are met. You will oversee and direct accomplishment for the overhaul for guns, gun mounts, gun fire control systems, and NAVSEA managed components that support these systems. You will provide technical support during the material condition assessment, removal/re-installation, repair, overhaul, and conversion of NAVSEA Minor Caliber Guns weapon systems. You will utilize knowledge of Naval operations supporting shipboard alteration and installation planning, coordination, and execution.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
  • You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
  • You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialize experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 pay band (GS-9/10 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing technician duties in support of weapon system overhauls, troubleshooting, repairs, or installation.
