About the Position: This position is located in the San Antonio Market, Clinical Operations, Network 3, and serves as the Chief, Healthcare Optimization reporting directly to the Assistant Director - Health Care Operations (AD-HCO) at the Defense Health Network (DHN). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Provide health system expertise on health care programs and policies. Serve as advisor to management and as a principal representative to healthcare and business optimization. Analyze administrative and clinical delivery systems to develop strategic focus for management team decisions. Develop, evaluate, and adjust organizational structures and management systems to accomplish the DHN’s diverse mission, directly impacting the DHN’s entire health care delivery system. Provide technical and administrative oversight for clinical administrators and Service Line Business Directors. Provide technical advice and assistance to clinical and administrative department chiefs on all health program functions within their departments.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position may have specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a regular and recurring basis.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes organizing multi-faceted projects that involve productivity and quality improvement; interpreting policies or procedures to develop protocols across medical facilities; and providing guidance and advice to senior leaders at a healthcare setting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
