About the Position: Serves within the Office of the Surgeon General and U.S. Army Medical Command with headquarters offices located in the National Capitol Region (NCR) and San Antonio, Texas. Serves as Executive Officer to the Director, Readiness Analysis Division (RAD), Deputy Chief of Staff G8/9 Senior Executive Service, Office of The Surgeon General/US Army Medical Command. Provide expertise in managerial and technical matters, manpower, personnel, operations, training, readiness and budget.
Duties
Establish and preserve an environment of constant changing workloads, shifting priorities, and streamlining initiatives.
Independently review and interpret various regulations, polices and directives pertaining to Readiness operations.
Supervise the monitoring operating and management of the Task Management System to receive, forward and respond to taskings.
Subject matter expert on the Military Health System (MHS) and MEDCOM Readiness policies, MTF operations, and health data analysis.
Receive assignments that are very broad in scope, long term in nature and have significant DA-wide impact.
Provide technical oversight of multiple functions relative to briefings, correspondence with internal and external organizations.
Responsible/authority to plan and carry out major projects concerns with the analysis and evaluation Readiness goals and objectives.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Subject matter expert on the Military Health System (MHS) and MEDCOM Readiness policies, MTF operations, and health data analysis, develop organizational plans based on immediate needs and anticipated changes in workload, missions, functions, and resources, supervise the monitoring operating and management of the Task Management System to receive, forward and respond to taskings, independently review and interpret various regulations, polices and directives pertaining to Readiness operations, responsible/authority to plan and carry out major projects concerns with the analysis and evaluation Readiness goals and objectives.
Qualification Standard provides the following examples: Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
