About the Position: Serves as a Senior Decision Science Analyst within MEDCOM's Program Analysis and Evaluation Directorate located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Serves as senior consultant and definitive SME on Military Health Systems (MHS) and MEDCOM policies, MTF operations and health data analysis. Supervises teams and individuals supporting major service lines, programs, or lines of effort.
Performs or oversees performance of impact analysis of various organizational structures, cultures, business processes, personnel policies and medical information systems usage in wide ranging functional data quality areas.
Coordinates with MEDCOM staff offices for input on key study topics and develops data requirements and analysis for study.
Uses specialized analytical, statistical, or visualization tools and software to provide analysis and display in meaningful arrays to facilitate the decision making process.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing data quality management checks, monitoring data input and output, assisting with data management, and conducting audits; amending and/or correcting discrepancies or advising staff of data corrections and policy controls. Experience in documenting business, organizational and/or operational requirements and assisting to develop solutions driven by requirements and supported by data to include statistical analysis, research design and decision support in order to improve decision making and business practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:
Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems;
Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and
Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
