You will serve as the Component Test Lead in the Global Deterrence Defense Department, Strategic Microelectronics Division, Test Operations Branch of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13, Step 10 (currently $134,435).

Duties

You will develop and execute all technical plans, studies, and decisions associated with the selection, evaluation, and application of electronic components for strategic high reliability radiation hardened electronics. You will provide direct support to the customer, advocates, program offices, and project managers in the areas of high reliability electronic hardware used on strategic weapons systems. You will provide electrical expertise and the framework for task management, tracking, execution, quality assurance, product assurance, and material logistics. You will utilize test equipment in the evaluation of electronic components and modules. You will coordinate the scheduling of work, including development of test plans, test methods and operating procedure development. You will control or identify and report the configuration of the devices being tested. You will ensure that resources are available, and procedures are adequate for proper receipt, test, and reissuance of items. You will notify and discuss technical problems with engineering personnel, contractors, and other government representatives.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Integrating quality characteristics through inspection and testing to ensure customer and military standard requirements have been met for electronic parts and equipment.
