Duties

Serves as an IT analyst for the DLA J62D Portfolio in support of multiple Automated Information Systems (AIS) to include contd Distribution Standard System (DSS), Vendor Shipment Module (VSM), and Warehouse Management System (WMS). Evaluates and analyzes the customer’s business system requirements’ feasibility, cost effectiveness, integrity, completeness, compliance, computability and testability. Conducts planning, design, documentation, application support, testing/test cases, analysis, trouble shooting, implementation, and overall customer service. Tests and validates that all software modifications meet system specifications and fulfill the approved business system requirements. Conducts and participates in research and investigation of technological developments that have potential to improve the design, contd documentation, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing application software

Qualifications

A. To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) your resume and supporting documentation must support Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Developing and presenting automation and design options to customers based on functional Distribution Standard System (DSS) and Vendor Shipment Module (VSM) requirements; - Analyzing existing systems capabilities; - Balancing competing requirements, understanding data definitions and the functional implications of system changes; - Clarifying and coordinating requirements, resolving problems, and persuading others to agree with requirement changes B. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess: - A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education should be a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
