Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below for IMPORTANT additional information. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as 480 ISR Wing Military Personnel Special Projects Manager and staff analyst supporting the 480 ISR WG staff and all subordinate units.

Duties

Serves as 480 JSR WG Military Personnel Special Project Lead/Manager to 480th JSR WG Commander, conducting organizational and related personnel analysis of promotion processes and evaluations for the wing staff and subordinate units. Advises commanders, supervisors, and managers on military personnel issues involving SQ/CC & SQ/DO bidding, IDE/SDE school prep and officer special duty assignments. Receives and personally disposes of official and personal correspondence.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

  • This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission.

  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform Temporary Duty Assignments.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: reviewing policies and practices, analyzing, and evaluating numerous facets of military organizational, functional, and operational requirements; and collaborating with responsible management officials in the resolution of complex and/or controversial problems. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the fundamental principles, practices, and techniques of personnel management, standardized research techniques, and analytical and problems solving techniques. Knowledge of HQ AF, and HQ AFPC, and personnel rules, regulations and procedures. 2. Knowledge and skill in the application of DoD, Joint, and AF management principles, concept, methodologies and financial management directives, concepts, procedures, guidance, and policy. 3. Knowledge of automated military personnel systems and computer applications, principles, procedures, and operations. Knowledge of DoD and Air Force military assignment systems, applications, principles, procedures, and operations. 4. Knowledge of the organization and functional responsibilities of the wing, its operations and procedures. Knowledge of one or more information management areas, e.g. records, forms, directives, correspondence, and/or mail. 5. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise recommended solutions, and prepare briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision making. 6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, and to present briefings to senior staff. Ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines. Ability to use computers and use word processing, spreadsheets, database software, office automation tools and techniques. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
