About the Position: Serves as the Executive Officer to the Supply Chain Management Director, G-3 an Army Materiel Command (AMC) HQ Staff Principal SES-level executive. This position is located in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
Duties
Serve as EO for SCMD responsible for providing expert guidance and assistance in the management of complex projects and action items.
Keep the SCMD G-3 and the civilian and military deputies informed of critical developments and providing expert advice on administrative aspects of various situations as they arise.
Provide oversight of coordinated daily tasking assignments of the SCMD civilian and personnel.
Provide expert guidance to SCMD relating to policies, priorities, practices and procedures assuring smooth and efficient operation of assignments.
Ensure that plans, programs and policies related to SCM are consistently developed, coordinated and implemented.
Analyze organizational performance factors and data to draw conclusions and provide recommendations.
Exercise significant independent responsibilities in dealing with SES and GO's of other DCS staffs and organizations.
Coordinate and negotiate related work changes affecting other elements of the SCMD G3 and relationship of the key functions.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) of occasional business travel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing executive level guidance and assistance in the management of projects and complex studies for a headquarters level organization; 2) Managing and providing oversight of all staffing actions and materials prepared for the principal staff; and 3) Preparing information briefings and reports to assist in the development of organizational policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-13.
