This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Operations Division, Office of Foreign Operations (OF), Arlington, VA.
This position(s) primary purpose is to lead and/or participate in studies to improve assigned programs and/or influence policy changes that typically involve long-range, highly complex, and often politically sensitive topics.
Duties
As a Managment and Program Analyst your typical work assignments may include:
Initiates programs and solutions to correct or avoid duplications, inefficiencies and procedural deficiencies.
Serves as expert analyst on studies and projects that have significant impact on organizational programs resulting in organizational growth and modernization.
Initiates and leads studies and projects related to strategic planning and analysis, including development of methods for measuring program success and achievement of objectives.
Conducts major analytical and implementation efforts to produce policies and regulations.
Identifies and interprets data generated from program and administrative operations to determine the viability, incorporating their findings into agency operations, policies, and procedures.
Apply research, analysis, writing, and editing skills, in support of presentations and decision making.

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) performing the following duties:1) Conducting detailed analysis of policies and procedures, staff products and briefings being presented to higher level leadership; 2) Performing analysis and applications of wide range qualitative and quantitative methods and techniques to identify and advise on problems and programs; 3) Recommending program or project initiatives and process for system improvements; 4) Developing policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable to operational programs; and 5) Coordinating special projects with other agency divisions, Headquarters, and inter-agency partners.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
