About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Network under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)). Primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Health System Specialist and subject matter expert in Healthcare Risk Manager (HRM) for the DHN with expertise in all technical and functional issues related to HRM programs. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Advisor and primary point of contact for provider adverse action and adverse event management within the DHN. Monitor and advise on HRM cases within the network to include medical malpractice claims, Active Duty (AD) death, AD disability and adverse action cases. Review and coordinate Healthcare Risk Management cases at MTF level and those elevated to the DHN level to ensure accuracy and inclusiveness of documentation. Work closely in association with other CQM Programs within the DHN to support a comprehensive strategy. Regularly brief DHN CMO/leadership on HRM case status within their network. Track efficiency of the HRM process; recommends and implements procedural improvements.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating medical service delivery to identify improvements; interpreting policies and/or procedures to develop protocols across medical facilities; advising senior leaders regarding healthcare risk management operations and/or optimization; and analyzing and identifying cases with malpractice claims. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
