About the Position: This position serves as a Chief Exercise Control developing, integrating, planning and synchronizing projects and missions for the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Moving expenses are not authorized, based on a determination that a move is not in the Government's interest. Recruitment, relocation or retention incentives are NOT being offered for this position.

Duties

As a Chief Exercise Control, you will perform the following duties: Oversee simulation support, logistical support, and information management functions of the Operations Group (OPSGRP) and activities requiring concurrence/approval and involvement of the Commander OPSGRP. Assist with exercise design based on training objectives, unique missions, composition of forces and the command and control structures of each exercise unit. Participate in exercise area set up and assist with management of exercise manning and shift schedules. Review exercise plans and propose changes that will ensure training objectives are met. Represent higher management at conferences, meetings, and working groups by providing advice and guidance to government and non-government agencies at all levels to integrate OPSGRP actions, projects and activities. Assist operational-level headquarters and the OPSGRPS in training design at exercise Concept Development Conferences and other Joint Exercise Life Cycle meetings. Monitor contractor support to the team in conjunction with the Contracting Officer.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Willing and able to deploy worldwide to hazardous duty areas at least 40% of the time.
  • Obtain and maintain an official passport.
  • Obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Comply with the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program by signing a 5019-R, "Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program" and comply with drug testing requirements.
