You will serve as a Training Specialist in the Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Technical Division, MCM Training and Certification Support Department of NAVSURFMINEWARDEVCEN DET POINT LOMA.

Duties

You will be responsible for the development and content management of all aspects of the SMWDC MCM Technical Division’s staff training curriculum. You will advise the Training and Certification Support Department Head (N7) (O-5) and Deputy Director for Training and Certification Support (GS-14) on MCM staff course content, training delivery and staff certification assessments. You will provide expert advice on the development and execution of MCM staff training curriculum, determining the adequacy of course content and the validity of the approach, design, and instruction of all training courses You will provide advice and guidance on the selection and inclusion of curriculum materials, including presentation methods, format, length, and scope of presentations. You will conduct regular and frequent liaison with senior officers and civilian staff to ascertain current operating procedures and lessons learned for integration into the fleet training continuum and MCM staff curriculum. You will assist in the delivery of classroom training.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This position requires that the incumbent be willing and able to work onboard naval vessels for up to two weeks.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing, improving, and administering a combat systems training program to include establishing evaluative criteria, writing curriculum, and analyzing problems.
