You will serve as a SUPV HR SPEC (RECRUITMENT/CLASS) in the Marine Corps Civilian Human Resources Office (HRO) of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

Current or former Interchange Agreement employees, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, VEOA eligibles, and 30% disabled veterans. You will identify training and developmental needs of subordinates. You will provide advice on internal and external staffing recruitment processes. You will hear and resolve employee issues and effects minor disciplinary actions as required. You will interpret and evaluate discrepant information to make recommendations based on legally supportable conclusions.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing and providing technical advice for recruitment and selection programs and position classification standards; and assigning work priorities and plans to be accomplished by human resources employees.
