About the Position: This position is with the US Army Cadet Command, 5th Brigade Headquarters located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Advise senior staff regarding technical military and/or civilian annual evaluations and awards.
Work efficiently to resolve conflicts and provide alternative means as needed.
Process various personnel actions for military personnel using an automated Human Resource database.
Prepare written correspondence (read ahead, briefing charts, etc.) for the Command Group.
Prepare administrative Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), develop internal policies, procedures and ensures compliance through contact with Brigade staff members.
Coordinate travel arrangements and process travel documents using an automated travel system for the organization.
Check office information systems daily for incoming documents to ensure proper dissemination is made or action taken, as required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires that the employee travels away from their normal duty station temporarily up to 15% of the time.
- One Year probationary period may be required.
- Pass and complete the U.S. Postal Services Operations Training

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: maintaining files by tracking multiple actions in order to run reports regarding human resources functions and automated travel, accumulating data for reports and policies for both internal and external organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
