You will serve as an Supervisory Interdisciplinary position at the GG-14 grade level responsible for manging, directing and coordinating the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO), Unmaned Sensor Operations Center (USOC) located at Stennis Space Center, MS.

Duties

You will review, coordinate, approve and prioritized NAVOCEANO inputs for Navy submission intelligence-related and requirements processes. You will coordinate with a wide array of external and internal activates to ensure fill rates, obligations and expenditures are meeting or exceeding prescribed benchmarks in support of Navy resources sponsors. You will collaborate with directors of other NAVOCEANO Departments to negotiate, decide and/or coordinate work-related changes affecting other Departments. You will perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities. You will establish work priorities, execute hiring manager duties for the USOC program, evaluate employee performance, resolve employee disputes, implants minor disciplinary actions and ensures employees follow NAVOCEANO directives.

• This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 801 level 03 within 12 months of appointment
• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
• This position may be subject to polygraph examination.

Qualifications

Supervisory Physical Scientist GG-1301-14 Basic Requirements: Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. or Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Supervisory Oceanographer, GG-1360-14 Basic Requirements: Basic Requirements: Degree: major study of at least 24 semester hours in oceanography or a related discipline such as physics, meteorology, geophysics, mathematics, chemistry, engineering, geology, or biology, plus 20 additional semester hours in any combination of oceanography, physics, geophysics, chemistry, mathematics, meteorology, computer science, and engineering sciences. or Combination of education and experience -- course work as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Applicants who qualify on the basis of major study in biology or geology must have had at least 6 semester hours in the major directly concerned with marine science or 6 semester hours in oceanography; applicants who qualify on the basis of other physical sciences or engineering must have had differential and integral calculus and at least 6 semester hours in physics. Supervisory Computer Scientist, GG-1550-14 Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as: 1. Knowledge of project management as it relates to oceanography and operational planning; 2. Knowledge and experience in financial management; 3. Knowledge and experience in budget and human resource management. 4. Ability to effectively communicate orally; 5. Ability to effectively communicate in writing. 6. Ability to think strategically in the development of long-term plans and execution strategies.
