You will serve as a Supervisory Physical Scientist in the Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC) and serves as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (DACOS) for Operations Departmen of COMNAVMETOCCOM.
Duties
You will act as Operational Planning Team (OPT) Lead for emergent operational matters and coordinates responses among the other departments on the CNMOC staff and Echelon IV commands.
You will provide oversight and advise the CNMOC Operational Enterprise Watch organization and Senior Watch Officer.
You will maintain and update the Mission, Functions, and Tasks for the Operations Department.
You will be responsible for the recurring operational reports, to include drafting USFF Bi-Weekly Flag update for the Commander.
You will serve as key liaison for CNMOC with CNO Staff, USFF staff, Warfare Enterprises, Numbered Fleets, and Unified Commanders concerning CTG 80.7 Operational matters.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Intelligence Community Directive 704 (ICD 704). Incumbent must continue to meet ICD 704 personnel security criteria as long as this position is occupied.
- Periodic updates of the SSBI will be initiated at four and one half year intervals to determine the eligibility of the incumbent to continue to be granted access to SCI material and data.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Possess and apply knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, and practices of meteorology, oceanography and hydrography in operational and military applications.
Develop plans and coordinate details in support of METOC/Navy operations.
Supervisor-- Ability to prioritize, develop and implement work schedules. Develops, updates, implements, evaluates, and submits personnel performance documentation/awards.
Provide sound operational and technical advice on METOC support with ability to represent CTG 80.7 with briefs, documents, and oral presentations).

- Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

- Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
