Duties

Interpret financial documents to recommend solutions to complex problems. Serve as liaison for all command fiscal year-end and appropriation close-out issues. Provide guidance on financial policies and requirements with specific emphasis on government accounting systems. Participate in conferences to keep informed of current and proposed techniques related to financial management.

Requirements

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Percentage of time to be spent Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is 5%.
  • The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position’s SCW certification level.
  • Financial Management Certification Level 2: Members of the FM workforce must achieve the appropriate certification level for their positions within 2 years of notification of applicable certification requirements or the period of any extension.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Management AnalysisFinancial Management SystemsFinancial ReportingFinancial Stewardship Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
