About the Position: Serves as the Patriot or Hawk, Chu-SAM, Chu-SAM Kai and NASAMS missile systems usage and maintenance specialist,evaluator, and safety officer during training exercises and live missile firings
Duties
Responsible for ensuring missile systems and fire control equipment are operational and properly adjusted in accordance with directives,
technical manuals, and safety operating guides.
Provide on-site maintenance assistance during training exercises and live missile firings.
Serve as evaluator and safety officer during training exercises and live missile firings.
Assist in the coordination of plans, letters of instruction, and requirements necessary to provide installation support.
Assist with evaluations, field exercises, live firings, and operations analysis of air defense systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the
duration of employment
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- This position requires Security Cooperation (SC) Planning, Oversight and Execution Management Area of Concentration(AOC) Basic Level to be
obtained within 1 year of entrance on duty.
- This position requires Security Cooperation (SC) Planning, Oversight and Execution Management Area of Concentration(AOC) Intermediate Level
must obtained within 3 year of entrance on duty.
- This position requires Security Cooperation (SC) Planning, Oversight and Execution Management Area of Concentration(AOC) Advanced Level
must obtained within 5 years of entrance on duty.
- The incumbent of this position may be required to work irregular duty hours as mission requires.
- Work requires the ability to observe light indicators, light sequences, and to distinguish colors.
- Injury from electrical shock, equipment; working around of explosive components is possible.
- This position is an Inclement Weather Essential position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Work requires frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, climbing stairs and onto equipment, prolonged standing and sitting, and running short
distances during battle drills.
- Extreme caution must be exercised due to high safety risk; must follow extensive safety procedures to avoid potential explosion.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting evaluations, field exercises, live firings, and/or operations analysis of air defense systems, coordinating proper movement and/or handling of tools and equipment, loading and unloading missiles. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service(GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree orLL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or Industrial Technology.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
