This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is within US Army Aviation and Missile Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G3, G-33 Current Operations Division.

Duties

Instruct soldiers and unit(s) personnel on characteristics, properties, and proper maintenance procedures of supported systems. Instruct soldiers and unit(s) personnel on characteristics, properties, and proper maintenance procedures of supported systems. Assess reliability and maintainability of the commands' missile weapons systems and support/test equipment. Advise senior level commanders on how to obtain and maintain supported missile weapons systems at or above the Department of the Army Materiel Readiness Goal (AR 700-138).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to be mobile for worldwide assignments as the needs of the service dictate, per AR 700-4.
  • Incumbent must be able to pass an appropriate initial physical examination, an annual, deployment physical, and agility test in accordance with AMC Regulation 700-19.
  • Possessing a valid state vehicle operator's license in CONUS. Obtaining and retaining a valid vehicle operator's license as required by the OCONUS Country of assignment.
  • Incumbent must be willing to sign a mobility agreement under the provisions of the agency mobility program, Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) Employment Mobility Agreement AMC Form 2884.
  • Emergency Essential (E-E) In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent must continue to perform E-E duties until relieved by proper authority.
  • Incumbent must be willing to accept the conditions and sign the DD Form 2365, DoD Civilian Employee Overseas Emergency Position Agreement, prior to entrance on duty.
  • Incumbent may be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned unit during technical and training field exercises, and deploy to contingency areas in support of the command's weapon systems.
  • Incumbent is required to travel away from the duty station (TDY) on multiple overnight trips up to 50% of the time
  • Incumbent will attend, as scheduled, those technical disciplines and/or system function area training courses required to obtain and/or maintain proficiency on the assigned systems.
  • Incumbent must be able to possess and maintain a Government Credit Card.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid official Passport.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: 1) work involving a broad range of missile system maintenance and significant expertise and depth in missile logistics. 2) Experience in one or more areas of missile system sustainment to include technical ability to resolve weapons system and sub-system faults. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
