About the Position: Serves as the HAWK, PATRIOT, Chu-SAM and FMS SHORAD missile systems usage and maintenance specialist, evaluator and safety officer during training exercises and live missile firings. Duties

Responsible for daily management of site personnel, including the work tasking of the site - explaining requirements, methods and procedures - and briefing the Branch Chief on all activities and personnel performance. Ensures all publications and safety equipment are up to date and serviceable IAW applicable publications – obtained by requesting updates from respective missile schools, and inspecting equipment Identifies problems with targets, frequency interference and communications to provide solutions and ensure safety and timely operations. Assists the Branch Chief at Post Firing meetings in explanation of malfunctions during Operational Readiness Evaluations and live fire exercises. Coordinates with responsible activities to ensure that missiles, targets, communications and telemetry services are provided.

  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • May be required to work irregular hours to include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level:

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or Industrial Technology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
