You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will independently plan and lay out routing, placement, and arrangement of industrial or similarly complex systems and circuit controls.
You will determine installations and repairs including types, sizes, gauges, and lay out of conduit.
You will be responsible for safe and proper operation of systems and equipment.
You will plan and lay out the work, tracing hard-to-locate defects, problems, and completes repairs and installations with little to no advice.

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- May be required to obtain and maintain current licenses to operate Fork Lift, High Lift (JLG), Bucket Truck and/or construction equipment.
- May be required to become CPR certified.
- May require special certification or license if assigned work requires special certification or licensing to perform the work or to use specialized tools or equipment.
Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Repairing and maintaining electrical components, fixtures, and wiring in buildings, facilities, and structures in compliance with National Electrical Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings; 2) Working from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering, drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls; 3) Utilizing hand and power tools, such as cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines; and a wide variety of test equipment; and 4) Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment.
