You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN SUPERVISOR in the Metro Production Office (MPO) of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will assign work to subordinates either orally or by providing written instructions. You will train subordinates in work methods and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, safety regulations and other regulations and policies established by the Federal Government. You will Inspect work in progress to ensure productivity, efficiency, economy and safety of operations. You will set and evaluate performance standards, approve leave requests, initiate commending and disciplinary actions, promotions, demotions and beneficial suggestions.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Government Vehicle Operator's Permit up to Class B with Tanker Endorsement.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cat 4 Crane certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operators License up to 15K Ton.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Reviewing work in progress and upon completion to assure standards of quality and quantity are met; 2) Planning, coordinating, assigning, and directing work of the work center to prevent delays; and 3) Reading electrical and mechanical blueprints, instructions, and job orders.
