You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the Public Works Department of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will perform structure-to electrolyte cathodic protection potential surveys. You will perform installation and repair of electrical systems such as primary and secondary utility services. You will plan and lay out the work, tracing hard-to-locate defects, problems, and completes repairs and installations. You will install, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, system, and associated fixtures.

• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You may be required to become CPR certified.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks to include: 1) Assisting in the installation or repair of industrial electrical systems; 2)Using a variety of test equipment, e.g., meggers, multimeters, frequency meters, watt meters, power factor meters, vibro-grounds, phase rotation meters, to perform the job; 3) Deciding on methods and techniques to use based on work orders and schematics; and 4) Carrying out oral and written instructions to complete work orders. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
