About the Position: This position involves filing work relating to the establishment, maintenance, control, protection, and disposition of records and instructions. It is located within the Dir. of Adim Dept. at the Navy Hospital Pensacola.

Duties
Incumbent will proofread and correct draft instructions and correspondence.
The incumbent is responsible for typing and processing naval correspondence, notices, and naval messages.
Utilizes numerous software for the generation of documents to include creation of forms, databases, workbooks, Operation Management Reports, graphs, charts, tables, etc.
File and maintain records, publications, and manuals.
Establishes and maintains directive files and review instructions and notices for proper spelling and format.
Sorts incoming mail by categories such as type of form, special action, subject matter, kind of issuance, originator, location, or type of correspondence.
Incumbent determines the subject matter and proper routing and/or action assignment for material received to include time sensitive critical material.
The incumbent performs as a Command Recorder which includes functioning as a recorder for various directorate and higher-level meetings or committees, boards, councils, and workgroups.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) verifying information such as documents and/or text for accuracy; 2) utilizing automated systems to file and/or maintain records; 3) utilizing computer software such as MS Word and/or Excel to create charts and prepare word docs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
