About the Position: This position serves as Training Specialist (Combat Arms) for US Army Training Support Center at Fort Eustis, VA.
This position is eligible for regular and recurring telework - as determined by the agency policy.
Duties
Serves as Training Specialist responsible for conducting direct coordination with HQDA and Army Commands on requirements for training range designs and targetry and identifies projects requiring Range Requirements Prioritization Board approval.
Represents TPO-Live in meetings for analysis and development of processes and standards for combat training, in coordination with approved individual, combined arms training strategies, safety requirements, and environmental policies.
Participates in concept, predesign, and design meetings for range development projects to ensure compliance with approved training criteria, safety requirements, and standard designs.
Serves on Joint Working Groups, Integrated Concept Teams, and Integrated Product Teams during the establishment of program device requirements, prioritization, and execution of the program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Extensive travel up to 60% may be required in the performance of assigned duties.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (SCFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.
- OGE 450 Requirement: In accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing requirements for range and training land programs; such as Army training range designs, surface danger zone analysis, project scheduling, and live fire targetry; 2) Assisting in the fielding and integration of training systems/devices; AND 3) Analyzing and coordinating of diverse requirements for live fire training, range, and training land usage. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
