You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Pipe Shop (Code 960), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901) Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will participate in developing, initiating, scheduling, and implementing programs for the development of
personnel through Continuing Training and Development Program.
You will coordinate the keeping of shop/code training plans current and check them for adequacy.
You will provide a draft Quarterly CTD Program Assessment for the CTDUND/Director (template will be forwarded
to each Code/Shop CTOL to ensure continuity of assessment content and format.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing computer skills to maintain a comprehensive electronic file of Mechanic Training Folders to include training taken, attribute sheets, date started, and date completed.
Experience utilizing trade standard operating procedures, NAVSEA instructions, shipyard and shop polices and instructions for non-nuclear ship repair projects.
Experience planning and executing training programs; Experience conducting classes in which they are the lead instructor/facilitator.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related is qualifying
