You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the Welding Shop (Code 926), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will coordinate training to avoid conflicts between courses and set priority. You will assess workload training needs and assess methods to achieve workload goals. You will ensure records are available for audits conducted by teams internal or external of the shipyard.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing education and training principles, techniques, and practices unique to the welding trade. Experience established work processes and procedures of the welding trade. Experience determining organizational make-up of the shipyard to better direct leads in efficient course concurrence processes. Experience utilizing principles, theories, techniques, and methodologies of nuclear propulsion plant processes. Experience carrying out duties, determining the appropriate methods and approaches to meet program objectives, delegates to subordinates those tasks that can fulfill the programs objectives, and reviews modern improvements for implementation to improve training.
