Duties
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the recreation program, including stable operation, lessons, and trail rides. This role involves developing training programs for trainers, ensuring proper maintenance of the facility, horse care, and staff supervision. Provides for riding instruction and boarding of private mounts for authorized patrons. Maintains up-to-date records of property, funds, and stable mounts to include the care, feeding and utilization of mounts owned or boarded. Responsible for ensuring facilities, pastures, fenced corrals, barns, riding trails, riding areas, picnic areas, equipment and machinery are maintained safely and efficiently. Supervises all herd management and the daily inspections of the horses and determines if veterinary treatment is required. Establishes schedules of events; applying rules and regulations in supervising assigned youth participants in outdoor activities. Applies knowledge in enforcing safety protocols to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications
Three years of experience in the equine industry. Supervisory experience required. Knowledge of a variety of heavy equipment and machinery to include water truck, tractors, mowers and gators. Knowledge of business/financial and facility management required. Lessons, clinics and trail ride experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to deal with all classes of people. National and state background checks are required for positions that involve working with youths. Flexible schedule with weekend and holiday availability required. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
